Aoraki Mt. Cook National Park Visitor Centre

This stunning visitor centre is located in the heart of the Mt. Cook Township and there are plenty of signs to lead the way. Inside, you’ll find an incredible artwork collection, interpretation exhibits and plenty of videos about the area. You will find information on local walks, activities and accommodation. There is also a great retail area, with New Zealand Made products available.

Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre

The Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre showcases the history of Sir Edmund Hillary and the Aoraki Mount Cook region. It has the world’s southern-most digital dome Planetarium. There is a cafe and bar area with indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of Aoraki Mt. Cook.

Hooker Valley Track

This stunning 10km return track crosses the Hooker River over three sets of swing bridges. This loop weaves its way to the Hooker Lake with a fantastic view of Aoraki Mt. Cook and the Southern Alps. The return journey takes you along the same track across the Sealy Range.

Kea Point Track

An easy walking track, the Kea Point Track covers 3km with a height gain of 180 metres. Take in the stunning views of Mount Sefton, The Footstool, Hooker Valley, Mueller Glacier Lake and Aoraki Mt. Cook.
